I am very sorry for the lack of communication and updating on this website for November and December, but my life, family, and work took up much time and energy.
Please read to the end since the proposed schedule of Gateway Ducati Owners Group Bike nights is included. Also, important dates for an event on an international scale: World Ducati Week will be held in late June. While this is on my bucket list, I most likely will not attend. I do encourage all of our members who can attend to so do. The World Presidents Meeting is held during that time as well. Also, Ducstock will be held at Barber October 10-14. All of these events should be fun. Mark your calendars.
November and December were busts as riding months for the GDOG membership, but other activities worked well.
The November meeting was well attended and the meal put together by the folks from Triumph Grill was outstanding.
Raymond So led the November ride and Rob Menendez was the only member to join him during the cold day.
In December, there was no ride. Our Bike Night was the annual holiday dinner and was well attended. The folks at Triumph Grill knocked it out of the park as far as food, service, and attention to detail. The night was successful.
In looking back over the year, we have been successful. Our owners group has increased in size. Our association with our sponsoring dealership, MotoEuropa, has grown, and is taking on a deeper and stronger relationship. Our group rides have improved. Most importantly, we are increasing the number of bike nights for 2012 to 2 per month. So, if you cannot make it for one of the nights, you can attend the other, if you so desire. Triumph Grill has agreed to continue providing space for us to hold the meetings. I believe that all of this is positive.
Looking forward to 2012. In January, the first bike night will be Thursday, January 19, 2012 at 6:30PM at Triumph Grill. In February through October, the bike nights shall be held on the first Tuesday and the third Thursday of each month. So, the schedule is as follows:
Jan 2012: Thursday, Jan 19, 2012 at 6:30PM
Feb 2012: Tuesday, Feb 7 at 6:30PM, Thursday, Feb16 at 6:30PM
March 2012: Tuesday, March 6 at 6:30PM, Thursday, March 15 at 6:30PM
April 2012: Tuesday, April 3 at 6:30PM, Thursday, April 19 at 6:30PM
May 2012: Tuesday, May 1 at 6:30PM, Thursday, May 17 at 6:30PM
June 2012: Tuesday, June 5 at 6:30PM, Thursday, June 14 at 6:30PM
July 2012: Tuesday July 3, at 6:30PM and Thursday, July 19 at 6:30PM
Aug 2012: Tuesday, Aug 7 at 6:30PN and Thursday, Aug 16 at 6:30PM
Sept 2012: Tuesday, Sept 4 at 6:30PM and Thursday, Sept 20 at 6:30PM
Oct 2012: Tuesday, Oct 2 at 6:30PM and Thursday, Oct 18 at 6:30PM
Nov 2012: Tuesday, Nov 6 at 6:30PM
Dec 2012: Tuesday, Dec 4 at 6:30PM- Holiday Party
While these are the planned dates, they are not etched in stone. If the 2 bike nights per month prove unpopular, we shall adjust and adapt.
