§ Gateway Motorsports Park – Oct 13-14
Many of you have inquired about track dates. There they are. We have seven different opportunities
to enjoy ourselves. Four of the
days are in our backyard at Gateway.
Those travel days should be easy.
The official DOC people began to roll out the official DOC
club list, which we are on. I
verified our membership list on the DOC website. Those who did not become members on the official Ducati DOC
website last year, please do so.
We started off April with a bike night on the 3rd
with Ryan Harrison, Parts Guru at MotoEuropa, discussing the process,
procedures, and waiting times for getting parts for Ducati Motorcycles. Also, Dan Huff introduced their new
technician, Andrew Dinan, to the group.
Andrew is familiar to many of us in the group, and we are glad he has
joined MotoEuropa and wish him well.
The group ride was held on the 7th with a trip
via back roads to Hillsboro and back.
All riders who started the day, returned on their own motorcycles. The pace set by Raymond was manageable,
the roads nice, and cars were minimal, but still there.
The second night was held on the 19th. Taxes for most of us were
completed. The mood was
light. Ryan, Dan, and Andrew did
an encore performance for us since we have different members at each bike night. The evening was very low-key and
enjoyable.
The month of April concluded with the debut of the Panigale
at a gala event held at MotoEuropa.
The evening was great and the unveiling was well orchestrated. The motorcycle itself has many
innovations in design, engineering, and construction that set it apart from the
competition. The recent
announcement of Audi’s purchase of Ducati was discussed at the event. The hope is for continued
improvement in design, engineering, and construction as synergies evolve with
the new corporate parent.
Please ride safely.
I shall see you at the events.
Sincerely,
Gary Kwawer
Chief Contact Person and President
Gateway Ducati Owners Group
