GDOG January 2011 and February 2011 Message
Happy February 13, 2011!
As I am writing this note, the sun is beginning to set on a very warm February day.
The riding weather since the 1st of the year has been atrocious. My last ride occurred
on January 29th when Raymond So telephoned me one afternoon and asked if I wanted
to ride. I asked for permission from the boss, was given the OK, and we headed out.
Raymond led us on an 80-mile ride, and we returned in one piece.
The January meeting was held as schedule at the Triumph Grille. Six die hard members
attended. No big decisions were reached. The February meeting was cancelled due to
the weather. We are planning on having our meeting on March 1, 2011 at 6:30PM at the
Triumph Grille. Mark Oldham will be holding a tech session on suspension settings. He
is excited to be holding the session. Good attendance at the meeting would be great.
On another front, the paperwork for the Gateway Ducati Owners Group to become
an “official” club has been completed and has been received by Vicki Smith. Based on
my many conversations with her, she assures me we are now an official club and are now
required to include the appropriate logo on our website. A big thank you to Pete Hall and
the group at MotoEuropa for helping us along the path to official recognition,
Fellow members, this has been quite a journey for us all. The easy part is now
completed. We must grow the club, work with our local dealer (MotoEuropa), and
continue to hold meetings, schedule rides, and have other events. Our ride captains are
hard at work planning routes. If the weather is good, the 1st Saturday in March could be
the first ride of 2011.
I shall see you at the meeting, take care and be safe out there!
Sincerely,
Gary Kwawer
